Projects

UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex

Renick Brothers is performing the HVAC and Plumbing for the General Contractor on this 180,000 sq. ft. sports and healthcare facility, located in Cranberry Twp., PA.

The building houses two ice rinks, including what will be the new practice facility for the Pittsburgh Penguins, as well as locker facilities, public spaces and medical offices.

Renick Brothers serves as the lead contractor for the BIM effort on the project. By utilizing the BIM model and Trimble Total Station technology, the underground plumbing for the project was prefabricated in our shop before a footer was ever in place. When the site was ready to accept the underground, it was able to be installed quickly and accurately with the Total Station robot to meet the demanding field schedule.

Industrial Scientific Global Headquarters

Renick Brothers is installing the duct intensive HVAC system of the five story, 200,000 sq. ft. Industrial Scientific Global Headquarters facility which includes office, manufacturing, laboratory and research space located in Oakdale, PA.

The on-time installation was critical to the project’s success. By utilizing BIM modeling, Renick was able to coordinate all of the various systems within the building, allowing for prefabrication of the duct system. Hanger inserts were installed prior to concrete pours utilizing the BIM model and Trimble Total Station technology. This combination of ready and waiting ductwork and preinstalled hanger points means that as soon as each floor is ready, the duct installation begins, helping to keep the entire project on schedule.

Grove City College Stem Hall

Renick Brothers installed the HVAC and Plumbing systems as well as performing the building automation in the classroom building housing Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

The building includes 12 labs for chemistry, biology and computer science and is heated and cooled by a custom air handling unit mounted on the roof. Renick Brothers was the leader among the trade contractors throughout the BIM process, which allowed for complete coordination prior to fabrication and installation. As a result, duct, piping and plumbing systems could be fabricated in our shop to meet the demanding schedule and delivered to the jobsite as needed.

Cardinal Wuerhl North Catholic High School

Renick installed the HVAC and Plumbing systems for this 170,000 sq. ft. state of the art high school. The building encompasses classrooms, laboratories, gymnasium, auditorium and a chapel.

Multiple gas fired rooftop units working with a central chiller provide the heating and cooling. Building Information Modeling (BIM) was used on the project to allow offsite prefabrication, and timely and efficient installation of the heating and plumbing systems. This high profile project for the Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh was completed on time and on budget.
